Fall is in full swing now, and even though it’s not my favorite season, I still enjoy it all the same. I enjoy the beautiful weather, the new shows on television, and Halloween. I haven’t posted a monthly favorites list in a few months because I was trying to wait until I had a diverse list of things to write about, and now I feel like I do. So here are some of my favorite things from September 2021.
Things That I Love- September 2021
1. I recently went to HomeGoods and bought my dog Nahla a resin wicker pet house bed (similar here); she loves it! Now, I have a hard time getting her out of that thing. Her bed is right beside my office desk because she loves to stay near me while I work.
2. On a stay-at-home date night with the hubs, we watched a movie called Really Love on Netflix. It starred Kofi Siriboe and Yooth Wong-Loi-Sing. I thought it was a beautifully written story about the romance between a struggling artist and a rising law student. If you haven’t seen it, check it out and let me know your thoughts.
3. Every Friday is Family Movie Night in our house. About a month ago, we watched a movie called Vivo. My ten-year-old son loved this movie. It is a great story that deals with grief and has a fantastic soundtrack (full of Latin music that makes you sway while you watch) courtesy of Lin Manuel Miranda.
4. I bought this wooden perpetual desk calendar from Amazon. It’s so modern and stylish and looks fantastic on my desk. From time to time, you might catch it in the B-roll footage of my YouTube videos.
5. My son needed a few more shirts for his back-to-school wardrobe. I found these cool graffiti-style shirts on Amazon. The price was affordable, and the quality was pretty good. I was also happy that I got two shirts for one price.

6. My husband loves sneakers (as do I), so he recently purchased these Converse sneakers inspired by the iconic and legendary graffiti artist Basquiat. I thought they were pretty cool.
7. Speaking of back-to-school clothes, my son was excited about getting a pair of Jordan 12 sneakers for school. He also got some nice Vans to mix things up.
8. I have been extremely nervous about kids being in person for school this year. One thing that has given me a little bit of comfort is feeling like I am giving my child the best protection I can with these KN-95 masks for kids. They are a little pricey, but I will do whatever I can to keep my family safe.
9. My dog recently had a scar on her face that she wouldn’t stop scratching. As a result, the wound kept growing. I had to do something, so I purchased this inflatable dog collar I found in HomeGoods. She didn’t like it, but it served its purpose, and her scar is almost gone now.
10. I have mentioned this show before in a previous list, but Family Reunion Season 4 is here! I love this show because we can watch it together and enjoy it together! What is your favorite show to watch with your family?
