Hey, Creative Friend! I am so glad you found your way here! I’m Ashley DeAnn, the person behind DeAnn Creates. I started this blog to share all the things that I’m passionate about with people like you. From crafting and home decor to finding ways to make beautiful things without breaking the bank – I’m all about spreading the DIY love. So come on in, grab a seat, and let’s get our craft on!
Who am I?
You know what they say, “life begins in your thirties,” and let me tell you, an exciting journey! I’ve got a fantastic husband and an incredible son who keeps me busy, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Now, I may live and breathe all things creative, but please don’t you dare ask me to dance. Let’s say dancing is not my ministry. But I’ll tell you what was – teaching! Yes, I was an elementary school teacher and loved every minute of it. But after a while, I started feeling the entrepreneurial itch and decided to leap. So here I am, living the dream and sharing all my creative adventures with you!
What inspired me to start this blog?
You won’t believe this, but I’ve been crafting since I was a little kid! In elementary school, my friends used to pay me a quarter to draw their names in rainbow-striped bubble letters. Can you believe it? I was making money off my artistic skills even back then! And let me tell you, teaching only made me better. I was like a one-woman DIY factory for the school. I made banners, backdrops, costumes, and props. You name it! I even turned the cafeteria into a magical wonderland with all my decorations. And my classroom? It was like a rainbow exploded in there! So, you could say I’ve got some experience under my belt. And now, I get to share all my creativity with you!
What are my future goals?
As the saying goes, “go big or go home,” right? Well, that’s precisely what I aim to do with DeAnn Creates. But I’ve got big dreams and even bigger plans. My ultimate goal is to take this blog and brand to new heights, spreading my love for all things creative to thousands… maybe even millions of people. And I want to do it in a way that will make sure DeAnn Creates is around for years and years to come.
