Making paper flowers with your Cricut Design Space App is amazingly simple. These flowers are so cute, and they make incredible decorations for party decor, spring decor, DIY Cards, weddings, Mother’s Day, and so much more. There are ten different types of paper flowers that you can make with Cricut Access. This tutorial will show you how to make paper flowers and how they look when you assemble them.

What Do I Need To Make Paper Flowers With Cricut?
- Cricut Machine
- Cricut Design Space App
- 12″ X 12″ Cardstock Paper (One sheet for each flower you plan to make)
- Quilling Tool ( I didn’t have this, so I used the Dollar Tree Embossing Tool instead)
- Hot Glue Gun
How To Make Paper Flowers With Cricut
Open your Cricut Design Space app and create a new project. Click on images and type in “3D flower”. You can choose from ten different flower templates. Choose the design that you like by clicking on it.
If you are using 12″ X 12″ paper like I am, drag the flower to about 10.5″ wide so it will fit on the mat. Then, click on the “Make It” button. Set your material size to 12″ X 12″. Then, click “Continue.”
Go over to your Cricut Machine and make sure that the dial is set to “Cardstock.”
Place your cardstock paper squarely onto the Cricut mat. Make sure that you smooth the paper out. Next, load your Cricut mat into the machine by pressing The Load/ Unload button. When the “Go Button” flashes, press the button and watch your Cricut Machine do its thing!
When the machine is done, press The Load/ Unload Button to release the mat.
Remove the unnecessary paper and throw it away.
Gently peel the flower spiral off of the mat. Place the design so the end is on your left-hand side and the swirl is going in a counterclockwise direction.
How to Assemble Paper Flowers
Before you start to roll the flower, make sure that the end of the spiral is on your left-hand side and the direction of the swirl is going in a counterclockwise direction.
To start the roll, you are going to need something skinny to rap the spiral around. I used my Crafter’s Square embossing Stylus from Dollar Tree. Cricut recommends that you use their Quilling Tool. However, I did not have this tool, so I just had to make it work.
Wrap the end of the design around the stylus tightly. Then, continue wrapping the cardstock paper, making sure that it is as tight as you can make it.
Make sure that you are wrapping it so that the bottom of the roll continues to be even.
When you get to the end of the spiral, there is a circle tip that you will use for the bottom of your flower. Fold that part over the end of the rolled-up flower. Use your fingers to hold the flower in place and prevent it from unraveling.
Use your fingers to fluff your flower petals out as much as you would like.
Hold the flower together and lift the flower to put a generous amount of hot glue on the circle base of the flower. Hold the flower onto the hot glue for about 30 seconds to make sure that it is secured.
You can curl the petals if you would like, but this part is optional. You can use your fingertips or the stylus to wrap each petal around so that you get a curled effect.
There you have it! We’ve made super cute 3D paper flowers with Cricut.
