Hey, Creative Friends! Can you believe it’s almost time for Easter again? One of my favorite parts of this holiday is creating themed Easter baskets for my son. It’s always a fun challenge to come up with something new and exciting for him to enjoy. Over the years, we’ve had everything from basketball to Paw Patrol-themed baskets.
Last year, I decided to make a Lego Easter basket for my son, and it was a huge hit! I had a blast putting it together, and he loved playing with all the Lego sets and goodies I included. So I thought it would be fun to share the process with you so that you can make one, too, if you’re looking for a creative and fun way to celebrate Easter this year.
In this blog post, I’ll go through all the details of how I made the Lego Easter basket and what favors I included. I hope it inspires you to create a unique Easter basket for your little ones. So, grab your coffee (or, in my case, a bottle of water) and prepare for some fun DIY Easter basket-making!

How to Make a DIY Lego Easter Basket
You will first need a blue plastic bin from Dollar Tree to use as the basket.
Use a hot glue gun to glue a blue base plate on each side of the bin, making sure that it is centered vertically and horizontally.
Glue the Building Block Tape onto the bin by following the lines that are engraved into the container. Use a pair of scissors to cut the adhesive Lego strips to the correct size. They are self-adhesive, but it isn’t quite sticky enough, so you will need to use your glue gun to secure it.
Use a pack of Make-It Blocks Building Blocks to spell out your child’s initial. It should only take one package, but it could be more depending on the first letter of your child’s name.
Decorate the other 3 Plastic Base Plates with the little figurines… as many as you want!
*Note: The Legos and Make-It Blocks are compatible, so you can use the Make-It Blocks to substitute the authentic Lego Brand. However, there will be a substantial price difference.
*Another Note: To make the Easter Basket look fuller, I stuffed a little newspaper at the bottom of the basket and then put a little Crinkle-Cut Paper Shreds on top.
That is how I created my super cool Lego Easter Basket!
Lego Easter Basket Stuffer Ideas
I filled my son’s Lego Easter Basket with all things from the Official Lego Brand. I understand that times are a lot harder now, so I am including some Dollar Tree Make-It Brand options. After all, we are in a whole pandemic.
