How To Make a Bunny Wreath

Connect the rope to the wreath form with a zip tie

Connecting the Rope to the Wreath Form with Zip Ties

Grab your circle wreath form and flip it over to the back. Next, attach the nautical rope to one of the bars using a zip tie. Pull the zip tie as tight as you can to secure it.

Wrapping the Circle Wreath Form with Rope

Wrap the rope around the wreath form as tight as you can. Make sure that there are no spaces between each row by wrapping the rope as tight as possible. Also, make sure the rope is extremely close together on the inside of the wreath form.

Connect the end of the rope to the previous row with a zip tie

When you get to the end of the rope, flip the wreath form over and zip tie the rope’s end to the last complete row. Make sure to pull the zip tie tightly so that the wreath doesn’t unravel.

Grab your new rope and start it right where the last rope ended. Then, zip tie it together with the last complete row of rope.

Continue repeating the process until the entire circle is covered in rope.

Use scissors to cut down the rope

If you get to the end of a rope, and it’s so long to where it’s sticking out of the wreath, grab a pair of scissors to cut it down. Because the rope is so soft, it’s easy to cut through.

Cut the rope and connect it to the rows on either side using a zip tie when you have finished covering your wreath form. Just make sure that the zip tie doesn’t go through where it can be seen from the front of the wreath.

Cut down the excess parts of each zip tie

Now, cut the excess of all the zip ties down to about an inch.

Now we’re going to start on the Bunny head, and we’re going to do the same thing that we did before. Connect the rope to a bar on the back of the wreath using a zip tie and begin wrapping the rope around, making each row close together.

How to Wrap the Bunny Ears with Rope

Now that we’ve completed our bunny’s head, there are three different methods that you can use to finish the ears.

To start wrapping the ears, run a zip tie under the rope closest to the ears to secure the new rope

First, let’s attach the rope by running a zip tie through one of the rows of rope at the top bunny’s head by its ears.

Method 1: Figure 8

Wrap the rope around the ears in a "Figure 8" motion.

There are three different methods that you can use to wrap the ears.  For the first method, wrap the rope around the left side and the right side of the outline of the ear in a constant Figure 8 motion going over on one side and over on the next.

Method 2: The Spiral

Wrap the rope around the ears in a spiral motion.

For the second method, wrap the rope around the perimeter around the outline of the ear in a spiral.

Method 3: The Go Around

Wrap the rope around the outside of the entire ear

For method three, wrap the rope around the outside of the ear. Keep going until you completely cover the ear.

When you get to the rope’s end, connect it previous row on the back of the bunny using a zip tie.

Connect the new rope with the old one using a zip tie.

To add a new rope, connect it to the last one, going the same direction, and keep going.

When you’ve filled up the ear, run the zip tire underneath the point and around the last row. Then, take another zip tie and connect the previous two rows of rope to the side of the ear to make sure that they stay in place and don’t move.

Cut off the excess part of the rope.

Now cut the extra parts of all the zip ties.

Connecting the Two Wreath Forms with Zip Ties

Connect the bunny wreath form to the circle wreath form with two zip ties.

To connect the Bunny head with the body, we will take two zip ties and run them between the rows of rope. It will go through the top of the body, the bottom of the head, and around both poles. The first one would be a little to the left of the center, and the second will be a little bit to the right of the center. We’re using two zip ties for added support to ensure that the wreath is stable.

Simple Bow Tutorial

Now let’s make our bow. First, we will cut two pieces of wired ribbon of the same length. If I had to guess how long I cut these pieces, I would say about 12 inches.

Making a Fishtail Cut for the ribbon

Fold both ends of each ribbon in half. Cut them from the center to the outside at an angle. When you unfold it, you should have a fishtail cut.

Put those pieces to the side. Then, grab your ribbon again and fold it around in a loop. You can make as many loops as you like. I think I went around maybe four times. Then cut it and do the same with your second ribbon.

Put the two ribbons on top of each other and connect them using pipe cleaner

Put both ribbon loops on top of each other and connect them using a pipe cleaner.

Grab the tails we made earlier and connect them to the bow using the same pipe cleaner.

Separate and fluff the loops of ribbon

Pull the loops apart, fluff them up, and position them to get your desired look.  If your pipe cleaner is still showing, you can use another piece of ribbon to cover it up.

How To Connect Your Bow to the Wreath Using Zip Ties

Connect the ribbon to the bunny wreath by placing the zip tie around the "Neck" area

Now grab a zip tie, run it through the back of the bow, and connect it to your bunny around its neck.

Fix the ribbon back the way you like it.
