I am so excited to be starting a brand new monthly blog post installment called “Things That I Love”! I will be sharing with you my absolute favorite things from the past month. My list will consist of a wide variety of subjects, including television, movies, clothes, events, locations, art supplies, apps, viral videos, and so much more. Whatever I’m into, I’ll share it with you! Today’s list is all of things that I Love from January 2021.

"The Hill We Climb" by Amanda Gorman

Amanda Gorman was completely captivating at the Presidential Inauguration. If you missed her reciting her original poem “The Hill We Climb,” then you are missing out! She beautifully captured the way I was feeling at that moment… the way I believe a lot of people were feeling at that moment. At just 22 years old, she has made history as the youngest Inaugural Poet ever! She is truly amazing!

The Swearing-In of Kamala Harris as Vice President

Since we are already talking about the inauguration, the most impactful moment (for me) was Kamala Harris being sworn in as the first female Vice President, the first African American Vice President, and the first South Asian vice president of the United States. This moment was so huge because, for so long, little girls have never been able to see themselves as Vice President of the United States, and now they can! Representation matters.

Jazmine Sullivan Has New Music!

I love “Heaux Tales,” which is the EP from Jazmine Sullivan! She is one of the most talented and under-rated singers today. I don’t even want to name my favorite song because there are so many equally impressive songs on this project! If you haven’t heard it, you should check it out.

Canva

Canva has become essential for me in starting my own business. I use it for so many things, like creating my Pinterest pins, creating my YouTube thumbnails, and making photographs the right size for my blog. It can be used to create so many things that I have yet to discover. If you are working on graphics, you should definitely check Canva out!

Craft Smart Oil-Based Paint Pens

I only bought 2 of these pens, but they are great! I use them to make small details on my craft projects. It is a lot more precise than using a paintbrush. I am planning to purchase more.
