How To Make It
Painting the Canvases
We must paint all four canvases with that super cool Vivid Pink Acrylic Craft Paint for this project.
Paint a second coat on all four canvases.
Now that we’ve got the first coat of paint on all four canvases, it’s time to add a second coat. Again, we want to ensure it looks nice and smooth, so let’s take our time and do it right.
If you’re hurrying to get these canvases dried up, we can use a hand dryer or heating tool to speed things up. It’s optional, but if you want to get these done quickly, use this shortcut.
To take our art project to the next level, we can use a Cricut Machine or a Stencil to spell out the word “love.” And the coolest part? We will replace the letter “O” with a heart shape! It’s going to look so awesome when we’re done. Just a heads up, we have to make sure each letter is no more than 2.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall. We can then cut each letter or shape onto some cardstock paper.
Now that the canvases are dry, it’s time to add the letters or shapes. We want to ensure they’re placed perfectly in the center of each canvas, so we’ll trace them with a thin red marker. Oh, and to keep things nice and even, we’ll use a ruler to ensure each letter is centered and aligned. This way, it’ll look polished and professional when we’re done. Let’s get this done and make it look amazing!
Adding the Yarn
Thread the doll needle with yarn. Tie a knot at the end of the string to prevent it from going through the canvas. Start at the bottom of each shape, coming from underneath the canvas. Press the needle lightly against the canvas to ensure you are in the right spot before poking it through.
Go through each shape from the bottom right side, go across to the bottom left side, poke another hole in the canvas going from the front of the canvas to the canvas’s back. Come through the canvas again at the right side of the letter outline right above the first hole.
When stitching the shapes, we wanna go through each one from the bottom right side, then cross over to the bottom left side. After that, we’ll poke another hole in the canvas from front to back. To finish up, we’ll come through the canvas again on the right side of the letter outline, above the first hole we made. This way, we’ll create those neat stitches that make our art pop!
When stitching the shapes, we’ll want to keep going until we fill each with yarn. And if the yarn starts to get too short, no worries! We can tie a double knot in the back of the canvas and cut off the excess. This way, we’ll keep things looking nice and tidy.
We’ve finished one canvas. Now it’s time to move on to the other three! We’ll follow the same process we did on the first one and stitch up those shapes with yarn. It’s going to look so awesome when we’re done! Let’s get to work and finish up our art project!
